Boards

A board is a view of tasks from one or more workspaces. Your tasks stay in their workspaces, with the same permissions and dependencies. Waiting, Ready, and Done follow task status; custom columns such as doing or review use labels. You can use a board on your own or invite people to arrange it together. Each person sees and edits only the tasks their workspace access allows.

Turn on Boards

Go to Settings → Appearance and turn on Boards [Beta]. A Boards section will appear in your sidebar.

Boards are optional and off by default. You can keep using your lists and graph alongside them. Turning the setting off hides the sidebar section; it doesn’t delete your boards.

Create your first board

  1. Click Manage beside Boards in the sidebar, then New board.
  2. Give the board a name, such as Home refresh or Delivery.
  3. Choose the workspaces whose tasks you want to include.
  4. Keep Waiting, Ready, and Done to start. Use Add column if you want stages such as doing and review.
  5. Click Create board.

Tasks from the selected workspaces appear automatically. You don’t need to copy them or add each one to the board.

Use your board

Click a card to open its task details. On a computer, drag the card to another column, or use its Move to column control with the two arrows. On a phone, swipe across the columns or tap a column name at the top, then use the move control on a card.

Moving a card changes the original task, so the change also appears in your lists and any other boards showing it. The confirmation offers Undo.

See Board columns for what each move does, including completing and reopening tasks.

Change the setup

Open Settings at the top of the board to rename it, add or remove workspaces, and change its columns. Click Save when you’re finished.

Removing a workspace from the board leaves its tasks in that workspace.
